Summary

Maggie should be living life to the full. She should be travelling the world, jumping out of planes, skiing in the mountains. Everything she dreamed of doing. But a year ago she fell ill and needed a heart transplant, losing all her confidence. This new heart is a gift, and Maggie believes that the best way to honour it is to be careful, cautious, safe.

Then something impossible happens. Maggie wakes up one morning in a flat that’s not her own, in pyjamas that aren’t her own and when she looks in the mirror – she sees another woman’s face looking back at her. Somehow, magically, Maggie has been given another chance at life, and another chance at love…

But can you truly follow your heart if it belonged to someone else first?

Oh gosh, give me the tissues! I absolutely loved The Love of Our Lives! I listened on audio and it is brilliantly narrated by Coral Sinclair.

After falling ill, Maggie receives a heart transplant and though she’d love to be living life to the fullest, she also feels the best way to look after her new heart is to be careful, cautious and safe. But one day, she wakes up in an unfamiliar flat and eventually realises she is living in the body of someone else. And that someone else has lots to teach her about living, rather than existing.

What follows is an emotional, uplifting and empowering story of living for every day, discovering new love after heartbreak and taking that leap of faith - because if you don’t at least try, you’ll never know. The lessons in a book like this - that shouts out to you to see joy in the small stuff - though fictional, are not impossible, and they will always do more for me than any self-help book.

Brilliant and highly recommended!

Give me all the tissues!
