About this listen

Twenty-eight year old Rainy has lived a charmed life. Seriously. She inherited her granny's cute picket-fence-lined house, her tea shop just seems to run itself, and guys flock to her (if not the wrong sort). After her latest relationship ends just like all the rest of them, Rainy's best friend, Sunny, decides that maybe she's lucky, except in love. With this realization, Rainy goes about changing her luck to find a guy that'll stick. When she meets Adam, it looks like her luck in love has changed. However, as she and Adam get hot and heavy, the rest of her life begins to fall apart. Can this go-with-the-flow chick see the truth in her so-called luck, soon enough to save what really matters?

This is a new Author to me. I enjoyed this story of Rainbow and her friends. She owns a tea shop which is failing. She doesn't tell anyone..Cliff is a friend who tells her she needs to figure what to do or lose her business. She meets this guy Adam in a grocery story. They hit it off until she finds out he is with a corporation Tea place.
She realized she like him but cant date sure to who he represents.
At times in the story, it sounded like Sunny's BF name came out as Ryan and not Brian as they were talking. so that was a downside..

Kelsey is amazing at narration. She held my attention in the story.

This was a good story for so many reasons. One reason was that I loved how we got to see the growth of the main character throughout the story. It was also really nice to see the male character wasn't a typical alpha male but one who still new what he wanted but let her have the room on her own to grow. Another thing I liked about this story was that I felt the author did well with making the story relatable. The narrator also did a great job delivering the story and made it a very enjoyable listen.

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to in the What’s in a Name series, and while it is technically a stand alone novel, I did feel like I missed things having not read the first book. Sunny featured prominently in this book and what I assume were events or people from the first book were mentioned quite a few times. I suspect I would have preferred to read Sunny's story first.

This book had more secrets/communication/relationship drama than I would have preferred and some of the transitions didn’t seem logical to me. For example, characters assumed what others were thinking or suddenly changed their minds. It annoyed me when Rainy said she knew what she should do, but then didn't actually do it. But all that aside, I did like the writing style, the set up and the happy ending.

Consider reading the series in order

I loved how Rainy is a free spirit and go with the flow type of gal. Her friends are as unique as her and they are all caring of one another. Can you imagine this group of gals finding friendship in unique names, Rainbow Gold or Rainy is down of her love luck or so thinks her BFF Sunny (Sunny Days) and then there’s another friend Honey. Can you imagine all the ribbing these gals would have endured while growing up.

Realistic writing by Eryn Scott with judging situations without all the facts and trying to lead your life while fighting all those internalized opinions on how it looks or should be. Enjoyable listen. Kelsey is great doing all the characters and brings them all to life.

I believe that this audiobook was gifted to me by either the author, narrator or publisher. A real enjoyable journey finding out what the future holds for Rainy and Adam. Throughly enjoyed this audiobook.
