The story’s compelling plot kicked off straight away and had plenty of twists keeping me guessing  as to how it was all going to pan out. The characters were intriguing and multifaceted especially Tammy who was a feisty, no nonsense, woman who easily handled anyone who confronted her. The murder story was difficult due to the deaths of small children, making it hard to digest but it made you avidly invested in finding out who the killer was.
 
I didn’t like the narration. I didn’t think the narrator captured the individual characters very well and some of their voice choices were irritating/comical in the extreme which took me out of the story often. 
 
One other issue was Tammy‘s bisexual representation. She’s dating a man and a woman and can’t seem to choose between the two. I felt that though it’s great having LGBTQA+ representation in the story, this is such a stereotype for bisexual people/characters and the author could’ve taken the opportunity to have a more positive portrayal of bisexuality while still giving Tammy relationship angst. 
 
Overall, an interesting start to this series but I think I will read book 2, I will get a text copy rather than the audiobook. I’m curious to see where Tammy’s story goes next.

I really did enjoy listening to this audiobook. I loved the narrator. I had an theory who it was. I was so sure I knew who the killer was. I liked the writing style and the story. I did like Tammy and Ginny. I liked how Tammy was. Ginny was sweet and loveable. I did like dov too. Wow I didnt expect that. I was wrong on who I thought it was. Very cleverly written. Im looking forward to the next book. Definitely recommend.
