It's a comic-book style, campy, short sci-fi story from 1947. It's fun and funny. It's camp in the sci-fi conventions of the day.
Murray Leinster was one of the pen names of William Fitzgerald Jenkins. He wrote hundreds and hundreds of these short stories, mostly in the sci-fi genre. It's not Philip K. Dick or Isaac Asimov.
