About this listen

In this captivating new Regency trilogy, best-selling author Ella Quinn picks up where her beloved Worthingtons series left off, as three Lords of London discover true love at last...

Handsome, rakish, incorrigibly flirtatious - Fredrick, Lord Littleton, is notorious. Lady Adeline Wivenly is resolved to keep him at arm's length during her first season - until she overhears another woman's plot to trick him into marriage. Even a rogue is undeserving of such deception, and Adeline feels obliged to warn him - only to find herself perilously attracted...

In the past, Littleton's charm nearly got him leg-shackled to the wrong woman. Now he's positive he's found the right one, for Adeline is everything he wants and needs in a wife. Her sense of justice is so strong she agrees to help him despite her mistrust. But can the ton's most elusive lord convince the lady he is finally serious about marriage - as long as she will be his bride?

Contains mature themes.

I enjoyed the story but felt the reading was a bit flat over all quite good

an interesting concept.

Somewhat different from other romance novels as the hero is the one who is certain that he's in love & the heroine is quite reluctant & tbh, I'm not entirely convinced that she actually was in love with him even by the end.

The heroine is too young for my tastes, I prefer novels where authors make the heroine 20+ (I know it was a different era, but modern sensibilities & all that & I think that anything less than 20 is way too young 🤷‍♀️)

I liked it that the heroine shows loyalty to her friend & takes it slow, but most issues could've been resolved had she just spoken to her friend!

It fell into silly ville for me when they decide to up the ante on their relationship when there's real peril to deal with & that situation is left unsatisfactorily unresolved, IMO

I also struggled to understand the reasoning behind one of the antagonistas motivations when it seems that anyone will do so long as they're "pure blood" & I can't think there wouldn't have been enough candidates on the marriage mart at that time...

interesting

Very lite debutante story which, unintentionally I’m sure, tells how the whole production line of marrying unsuspecting young women to calculating gentlemen, with the assistance of their equally calculating parents.

A couple of interesting sub plots are included, which raised the tenure of this story. However I doubt that I’ll read the other tales in this series.

A Sweet Debutante Story

This one was difficult to complete. I loved the story and would love more from the same author. Unfortunately, the narrator sucked a lot of live from the book. it would have been better if she did nor try to give male characters a voice. Resulting in the male characters being robotic and completely devoid of any emotion.

Good story, bad narrator
