About this listen

Charles Bingley is a man who relies on Darcy’s judgment in all things yet understands very little of it, at least when Darcy is speaking Greek to a horse who only understands Latin or staring at the quick-witted sister of his own angelic Jane Bennet. What was happening behind the scenes at Netherfield, Pemberley, and Darcy House, and just what did those men talk about over billiards and brandy? A generous, kind, and always hungry Bingley sheds a little light on keeping company with the most interesting man in the world and shares his thoughts on puppies, his dreadful sisters, and the meaning of happiness.

…And humorous. A book from Bingley’s gentlemanly perspective. Very different and a few Lol moments. Refreshing. David Pickering was the perfect narrator and I wish he would narrate more P&P books. Definitely recommend.

Delightful ❣️

After listening to many Austen-inspired stories which were very angst, it was an unexpected treat to discover this absurd and hilarious take on Charles Bingley. Bingley in this version is far from bright and has the attention span of a gnat. He's constantly being distracted from conversations on to flights of fancy and the actual events going on around him often fly right over his head. But he MEANS well! He also totally misunderstands Darcy's talking about most of the time.
We never see Elizabeth, Jane or the other ladies as this book is completely made up of scenes involving the menfolk which are missing from P & P.
The author has a real gift for writing absurd trains of thought. Short but very amusing and well-narrated.

Very very funny and very silly!

Perspective from Mr Bingley, really funny. Would recommend if you like P&P variations as most do not have that perspective

Brilliant

Brilliantly funny! Sympathetically read without a single mispronunciation. What more can a P&P derivative addict ask?

Laugh out loud funny!

I really enjoyed this. It made me laugh often and is a nicely unusual variation written from Bingley's (easily distracted) point of view.
The narrator is perfect - he has a perfect voice and accent with no American pronunciations. I will grab any P&P stories he reads. He's become my new favourite.
Buy this audiobook, you truly won't regret it.
