Summary

The Amazon number one best seller.

A terrorist attack. A rogue soldier. A relentless hunt for the truth.

Sam Pope was one of the UK’s finest soldiers, serving over a decade as an elite sniper. After a near fatal shooting brings an end to his career, Sam returns home to his family and a potential new career in the Metropolitan Police. When disaster strikes and his bond with his family is broken, Sam takes a job as an archive officer within the Met, hunting down criminals that have beaten the system and delivering his own brand of justice.

When a terrorist attack at the London Marathon shakes the city to its core, Sam decides to open his own line of investigation. Venturing into the world of organized crime and police corruption, Sam soon finds himself as the number one target...and faces a race against time to expose the truth.

Fans of Lee Child, Mark Dawson, Robert Ludlum, and Vince Flynn who are looking for their next action hero, will be thrilled by The Night Shift, the first book in the Amazon number one best-selling series.

Interesting story, with lots of potential for future books, but it was spoiled by the narrator.

Interesting story, not great narration

The story is one of justice being served by one man outwith the rules of the legal system. It highlights the corruption within the police force that forced one man to take matters into his own hands to protect innocent people . It struck a chord in light of recent media exposure of corruption within the metropolitan police and other police forces in the country and the scarily growing distrust the public have of our police force and justice system.

Justice served

A good first intro to the Sam Pope series. It’s a shame the audio came across as flat and a bit boring. Philip Glenister is my favourite narrator so far.

Decent competition for Reacher

A bit of a swashbuckler but nothing credible about this. The last chapters were just chasing and violence that did nothing to add to a half-reasonable plot, but the characters were over the top and not credible. I’d try others in the series but only when I was short of alternatives.

Over the top!
