However, some of the examples of pick up scenarios feel a bit too contrived and artificial.

You might be forgiven for thinking the title does sound trivial and targeted primarily at a young adult male audience. And there are many books in this genre to choose from, so what is the unique selling point about this one?

Ms Noble demonstrably knows her subject and imparts her wisdom both confidently and with good logical structure, focussing on behavioural improvements, why these are necessary, and underpinned by clear practical advice. She does not labour too much on flimsy insights and silly urban myths describing how "women think" about this and that etc. Instead, the author spends her time discussing the psychology between the sexes and analysing responses.

There is a lot of material contained here, all of it solid and useful, so do not rush through. The claim being made is that this is a fool-proof system. But as with all self-help books, you need to put the time and effort into making it happen, and all of Ms Noble's advice does require determined practise.

Even if you are not searching for a partner, the information is still highly applicable to all areas of our lives where improving human relationships is important. The message is: the better and more successful you are with people, the more opportunity life will give you.
