About this listen

The Skelf women are recovering from the cataclysmic events that nearly claimed their lives. Their funeral-director and private-investigation businesses are back on track, and their cases are as perplexing as ever.

Matriarch Dorothy looks into a suspicious fire at a travellers' site, and takes a grieving, homeless man under her wing. Daughter Jenny is searching for her missing sister-in-law, who disappeared in tragic circumstances, while granddaughter Hannah is asked to investigate increasingly dangerous conspiracy theorists targeting a retired female astronaut...putting her own life at risk.

With a body lost at sea, funerals for those with no one to mourn them, reports of strange happenings in outer space, a funeral crasher with a painful secret, and a violent attack on one of the family, The Skelfs face their most personal - and perilous - cases yet. Doing things their way may cost them everything...

If you were brought up or know Edinburgh well then these books take you through the streets of a modern city with a twist. I would suggest that (in the summer) you should consider a bus tour of the city and surrounding places to visit to give visitors context to these set of books.
I love these books, they remind me of Edinburgh and the places they visit are right there in my head. The plot is always full of different things going on and various members of the family having to deal with some individual dramas. Sarah Barron does a great job with the narration well done and keep up the good work.

Another great plot from the Skelfs.

The emotions that are rung out as I continue to follow these strong women and connected 'family' make me want to never leave them. Well done Doug Johnstone.

The power of connections.
