Summary

Linden McGregor is tall, rugged, and gunslinger handsome - a helicopter pilot with a Scottish brogue and charm to spare. He's also one of Stephanie Robson's best friends and has fit into that box for as long as she's known him.

Beautiful, funny, and an ambitious businesswoman, Stephanie Robson is one of Linden McGregor's best friends and has fit into that box for as long as he's known her. But some relationships can't be boxed, can't be classified, can't be tamed.

Back in their mid-20s and tired of the competitive hit-or-miss dating scene of San Francisco, Steph and Linden made a pact to marry each other if neither one of them were in a serious relationship by the time they hit 30.

It sounded like fun and games at the time, but as the years to 30 tick past and lovers come and go out of their lives, the pact becomes larger than life.

Sex is inevitable. Friendships are tested. Hearts are on the line. The pact is about to change everything.

Really liked this novel from friends to lovers romance. The only thing I disliked was the male actors scottish accent was awful they would have been better off using either a Scottish or American actor for this part. Lydia Dornet is a good narror always enjoyable Karina Halle is a good author listened to quite a few of her books.

Enjoyable

Shout out to the narrators!! They got invested in it, all the emotions and excitement and just the narrating parts. All of it felt like watching a movie. Since my job at the moment isn’t very engaging, this was a perfect way to pass the time. And how wonderfully so! The plot line is quite something. It is a real and raw story about friendship and growing and learning what love is. It is heart-melting, funny, beautiful. I am not a ‘cheesy love story’ type of gal, but this one somehow managed to squeeze my heart a bit. It is just a bit cheesy but not too much, not too little, it is beautiful and real. Sometimes, I guess, we all need a story like that being told, so that our hearts would not get too hard and guarded, to serve as a reminder that life, love, relationships are never just black and white and to enjoy the grey no matter what. Thank you for that.

Not too much, not too little. Never just black and white.

Great narration, especially Lindon’s Scottish accent and cheeky personality. I loved the banter between him, James and Steph and the character’s chemistry was amazing.

Lindon’s voice - swoon

Brilliant story but the main character’s Scottish accent was diabolical and cringe worthy. Us Scottish people do not sound like that. But persevere with it as the story is fantastic.

Fantastic story
