I found this book very difficult to listen to and almost gave up. The story was OK but predictable but the narration was awful. I hated the narration of the main character with inconsistent and poor diction. The French accents of the other characters irritated me too. perhaps I would have enjoyed the written version more.

Good story but awful narration.

I really wish the author hadn’t used the C word so many times throughout the book. It just wasn’t necessary. The storyline itself is fantastic as were the performances, but the prolific use of that swear word was such a let down.

Fantastic book but…

I’ve really enjoyed Lucy Foley’s previous books and had pre-ordered this one but I’ve just returned it. The narration is dreadful with bizarre accents - think Clouseau. I gave up after an hour because I hadn’t a clue what was going on and really didn’t care because there was no engagement with any of the characters. Hope Lucy Foley returns to form with her next book.

really struggled to finish. loved her other books but this one just fell flat. was listening to an audiobook and mix of french and french accent on top of multiple personas gave me a headache. my biggest issue though is that almost nothing happens until the las minute.
