I love the work of JP Delaney his stories are always so complex and totally different to anything else out there. This new novel was a great listen a very unusual storyline a nod to Charlie Booker exploring the limits of technology in the near future. Whilst it was clear that the main character was not actually defined as human but and AI it did not stop me from empathising with her and really caring about what would happen to her. I felt that the Autistic strand in the book was dealt with very empathically and the reason for this are made clear by the author at the end. All narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. I cant wait for the next book !

A completely different book from JP Delaney. I wasn't sure at first but after a while I was totally drawn in. Really enjoyed it.

Not what I was expecting

I chose this rating because it took me a long time to get into the story - a lot longer than usual. The storyline is very different to anything I’ve read before and is an interesting concept. It got better during the last third of the book when everything came together but it took a long time getting there. I don’t think I would recommend it unless you have patience and time on your hands to trial the storyline.
