A wonderful story divinely narrated. Edward Petherbridge has the most perfect voice for this, or indeed any, classic novel.

Brilliant book, beautifully written and beautifully read. Read a paperback version before but the narrator really brought it to life.

I first read this many years ago and felt it was an over long short story. Coming back to it now I am prepared to linger over the luscious prose. Just wonderful and beautifully performed in this version. Bravo!

A classic for a reason

Enjoyed from start to finish. Fantastic story and fantastic narration. I had not read this book before so didn’t know what to expect. Was very enjoyable.

Loved it!

Sad and with a creeping feeing of doom written by a man who must have been at his lowest when he wrote this tale. Scary, mostly due to its cynicism, and empty Wildian jokes. And read by one of my favourite British actors who is as good a reader as an actor.

One of the best horror stories
