About this listen

The beautiful young Dorian Gray has his portrait painted by society artist Basil Hallward. Admired by all, the dazzling, wealthy, handsome young man has everything anyone could wish for, or so it appears. Oscar Wilde's novel is a masterly study of moral corruption, a tour-de-force of suspense and surprise.

Loved the story, all the characters were horrid and it was a great listen!!!
So fabulously gay, flamboyant and pompous.

Michael Sheens narration is excellent

This is one of my favourite books, Michael Sheen is flawless as usual and puts so much feeling into each word! It's absolutely beautiful to listen to and I'm sure I'll be listening to it all over again very soon!

A wonderful performance by Michael Sheen of a classic story. Oscar Wilde’s writing and imagination are extraordinary. Fabulous to spend time with two great talents through this audiobook. One to treasure.

Wonderful performance of a dark classic

The Picture of Dorian Gray is probably my all-time favourite novel, so I got this as my first audiobook. An allegorical tale sown with reflections on the nature of intellect, beauty and sin, spun with clever, clever words against the living background of Victorian London. And it's brilliantly performed by Michael Sheen. What's not to love? (I only wish there was an unabridged version.)

First listen, amazing

Michael Sheen has such a wealth of talent that really shines here. He gives si h life to each and every character and really makes this a joy to listen to. The plot moves at a reasonable pace and has such a creepy ending that really hits you after getting so attached to such vibrant characters. Wilde's creative encapsulation of unique and strong personalities is at it's best here. Loved everything about this except the lack of chapters but still worth a purchase.

Better to be talked about!
