About this listen

The Plainsman – The Cavalry Scout chronicles Sam Jackson’s time serving at a cavalry scout in New Mexico and Arizona.

When he is transferred from Fort Union to Fort Apache, he meets a young woman named Nora Starr while on the stage coach.

Sam and Nora develop a friendship which eventually turns into love for each other.

Sam is involved with several attempts to find Victorio while in New Mexico and Geronimo while in Arizona. As luck would have it, Sam came upon a young Apache boy who had been shot. After treating the boy, he discovered it was Chappo, Geronimo’s son.

Sam resigns from scouting for the cavalry and he and Nora marry. While they were on a stage coach in New Mexico, the stage is robbed. When they get to the stage station, Apache had killed the station master and taken a passenger’s daughter.

Sam has one last challenge facing him with the Apache as he sets out to find and return the girl.
