About this listen

The perfect marriage. The perfect lie.

I thought we were happy, until the truth shattered everything.

As a wife and mother, I believed our life was solid. But when Cole’s betrayal came to light, it also allowed light to shine on something far more dangerous: the quiet, persistent pattern of control and manipulation I’d mistaken for love.

Suddenly, everything made sense.

The gaslighting. The isolation. The way I’d learned to silence myself to keep the peace.

Now, I see it clearly, and I can’t go back.

With the help of my trusted circle, my “Secret Squirrels,” and a strength I didn’t know I had, I begin to lay the groundwork for a new life. One where I reclaim my voice, protect my kids, and take back the power he tried to steal.

Then Cole hands me an unexpected opportunity. I can't pass it up.

And I’m ready.

Gripping, emotional, and quietly powerful, The Plans They Made Together is a journey of resilience, healing, and the kind of love that empowers rather than controls.

Audiobook: Narration was good and easy to listen to. Got through it in 1.5 days.

Book itself: It's a powerful message that yes, you can get out of an abusive marriage if you make plans. That said, in ways, I felt it was too easy for her to get out once she made a plan. I do know that it takes usually more than one try to get out as emotions are high, abusers are unpredictable and kids make it harder to leave.

I'm not saying I wanted Zoe to suffer more but I needed it to feel more realistic. I did want to see Cole get more of a comeuppance as well. He soooooooo deserved it.

Good story but not too realistic
