Whatever follows the words "I am" will always come looking for you.
So, when you go through the day saying:

"I am talented" ... talent follows you.
"I am healthy"... health heads your way.
"I am strong"... strength tracks you down.
The Power of I Am reveals how you can discover your unique abilities and advantages to lead a more productive and happier life. Joel Osteen's insights and encouragement are illustrated with amazing stories of people who turned their lives around by focusing on the positive power of this principle.

Later on I became a Christian, but fell away from the church because of the people who seemed to be on my case all the time -- sinners condemning sinners.
My spiritual path continued -- back to the steps, then to Buddhism, then Law of Attraction, then back to the steps, then New Thought and so on -- forever seeking and finding different ways to God, and realising at the core of it was the same need for a surrender and let go of control.
As such, I personally came to view the biblical story as allegory rather than literal -- my personal relationship with the Divine is based on love and compassion and surrender rather than anything written down thousands of years ago.
I don't call myself 'Christian' because it means so many things to so many different people, and I'm not into the politics of spirituality, just my personal relationship with God.
This is a good book -- it's woken me up to a new way of looking at Scripture, and should also resonate with other people who are seeking the abundance of the divine, without the judgement of man.
