About this listen

Celebrating 25 Years as a New York Times Bestseller — Over 16 Million Copies Sold

It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 16 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces listeners to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind. He awakens readers to their role as a creator of pain and shows them how to have a pain-free identity by living fully in the present. The journey is thrilling, and along the way, the author shows how to connect to the indestructible essence of our Being, “the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death.” Featuring a new preface by the author, this paperback shows that only after regaining awareness of Being, liberated from Mind and intensely in the Now, is there Enlightenment.

This book opens the door and gives a glimpse of a world I had not experienced since childhood. That of living in the present moment. A beautiful but very indepth read.

Would you listen to The Power of Now again? Why?

This was recommended to me as a book I should read. I am glad I did.
The book explains how we rush about in our daily lives, earning money and supposedly living. But how often do you sit and think about what you are doing 'now'.
I have learned to enjoy living in the 'now'
To listen to the sounds of nature and actually see nature growing.
There is so much beauty around us.
I would listen to the book again, if only to remind me, if I should forget, to live in the 'now'

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Power of Now?

The most memorable part was actually realising that I can listen and be in the present and it is peaceful and calm.

What about Eckhart Tolle’s performance did you like?

Eckhart's voice is calming. He pauses several times to allow you to take in what he is saying.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I listened to this book in 2 days. When the author told me to enjoy the moment, to listen, feel and taste the now, I felt that my life is suddenly going to be richer in experiences.
This has proved to be so in many experiences since.

I now live in the present

There is a very good reason why this book/audiobook has sold millions and it is not because of clever publishing. Eckhart Tolle is one of the great living spiritual masters alive today. I have read probably 2000 books on spiritual life and been a transpersonal psychotherapist for 30 years, alongside practising meditation and yoga for 50 years. This short book is at the top. As a wise friend said to me "He speaks FROM the truth...not ABOUT the truth. He knows. You do not have to go far on the internet to find endless confirmations of what I am saying. It can be read/listened to indefinitely and every time it is fresh, because it is a transmission of truth, not ideas and theories about truth. It is also a manual on the path to enlightenment through the practice of presence ie. being here now His instructions are crystal clear. and you won't need an interpreter to know what he is saying and how to do it. It is Eckhart Tolle himself who reads the book. Very important as the vibration of truth is in his voice as well as his words. Worth its weight in platinum.

A profound spiritual book by an enlightened master

Although I am not religious and found some of the referring to religious texts somewhat awkward. I cannot argue with the overall teachings and philosophy contained within this book.

As Eckhart says we really do have nothing except the now and if we can embrace that everything in life changes and only gets better.

Potentially life changing

Really fantastic, I was already following some of the principles in the book, but the book really cleared things up for me
