About this listen

In November 1941, Lt Ralph Trewin, DSC arrives at Singapore as second-in-command of HMS Porcupine. To the shell-shocked Trewin, the gun boat and her five elderly consorts symbolise the ignorance and blind optimism he finds in Singapore.

Very good nautical read centred around the fall of Singapore. I usually think Reeman to be weak in the matter of romance, but in this novel the subject is deftly handled.
As usual David Rintoul's narration is spot on.

Excellent yarn

Wonderful book a great story set against the backdrop of the battle for Singapore. I always enjoy Douglas Reeman stories but this one was especially gripping and I really enjoyed it, was hard to stop listening. Great Narration by David Rintoul as always.

I have listened to rather a lot of audio books and many by Douglas Reeman this has been 1 of my favourites, I could listened to David Rintoul forever he really brings the story to life almost as if you were watching rather than listening.

Yet another good read. David Rintoul makes the story come to life as if you were there living it with him.
