This book has a great step-by-step process for thinking about technical speaking and actually preparing your talk. It's even divided further into sections for lightning talks vs workshop style, etc. I have my first few talks coming up, and I refer to this book all the time to make sure I'm on the right track! I highly recommend it :)

This is an amazing book on the topic of public speaking, with practical guidance on how to become a better public speaker. Some books are “slow books” to listen and they drag along slowly, but in contrast, this was an extremely easy and fast flowing book that I did not want to put down. I especially enjoyed the author’s humorous anecdotes and quotes on various topics that made me laugh out loud with joy.
