The Pyramid of Mud is the twenty-second Inspector Montalbano mystery from Italy's finest crime writer, Andrea Camilleri.

It's been raining for days in Vigàta, and the persistent downpours have led to violent floods overtaking the Inspector's beloved hometown, sweeping across the land and leaving only a sea of mud behind. Mark Meadows does not try to speak with an Italian accent and the story is all the better for it because he gets into the characters well such as Caterella : thus strengthening Camilleri’s books and I’ve listened to all of them. I so appreciate Mark Meadows- thank you

I have tead all the Montabano books and thoroughly enjoy them. This was my 1st in audio format. To give the characters south london accents was a bad idea in my opinion. I'll Stick to reading from now on.

I have enjoyed listening to many Montalbano audio books but as there were so many characters in this particular story, it was difficult for me to distinguish 'who was who' on account of the Italian names. This was no reflection on the narrator who was excellent. I have read this book a few years back (couldn't remember the plot and recall enjoying it since I could read the names) but this book didn't work for me via audio.
