About this listen
They say I am a queen. They say I married a monster. That I did so willingly. They say he cannot die, that he does not age. That, together, we rule a ravaged world. They say I used to be one of them, but now I am a traitor. They say many things, all which I cannot remember, but....
I fear what they say is true.
Then there is what they don't say, what I see in their eyes - the king terrifies them. He cannot be stopped. And, most worrisome of all....
He is coming for me.

⤐ Overall.
This is the ideal specimen for my 3-Star-rating-criterea. After a surprisingly engaging start to the The Fallen World series I could not have been more indifferent towards this sequel.
In The Queen of All that Dies , it is pretty much impossible to not be fascinated by the dilemma that is the relationship between Montez and Serenity. I was pretty much at the edge of my seat at all times because their dynamic was intriguing and vibrant. This instalment, however, provides little of the thrill I enjoyed so much before.
As in the last book, the military action is somewhat questionable again and combined with the less engaging romance, The Queen of Traitors falls right into the category of second-book-syndrome.
⤐ What’s happening.
‘War takes a lot from people but unfortunately pain is not one of them.’
And so Serenity has to live with the fact that she has fallen for the man who's taken everything from her - her parents, her first crush, her comrades, her freedom - and continues to strip her of her choices while the world she tries to protect is falling apart.

3 STARS. Decent read that I have neither strongly positive nor negative feelings about. Some things irked me and thus it does not qualify as exceptional.
3 indifferent STARS ★★★✩✩
