"The Runaways of Mouse Manor" is a heart warming tale of courage, love, and self-discovery set in a grand old house during a bygone era. This enchanting story follows Minerva, a young noble mouse with a hidden talent, and Mitch, a kind-hearted, hard working mouse, as they dare to challenge societal expectations and forge their own path.

When Minerva's sister Aminta tries to separate them and push Minerva into an unwanted marriage, the two friends make the bold decision to run away. Their journey takes them from the comfortable confines of Mouse Manor to a humble village, where they learn the value of hard work, true friendship, and the strength that comes from being true to oneself.

As they face challenges and uncover hints of magic in the world around them, Minerva and Mitch's bond deepens. Meanwhile, back at Mouse Manor, Aminta begins to question her own choices and the true meaning of family.

With themes of social equality, the power of kindness, courage, perseverance and the importance of following one's heart, "The Runaways of Mouse Manor" offers young listeners a touching adventure filled with gentle humour, valuable life lessons, and a sprinkle of magic.

I loved the story and the way it was written and told. I think I would love it even without the Irish accent. The picture on the title page really set the scene and I just had to hear it immediately.

Everything is right in the end!
