it took me a couple of attempts to get into this book- only because I have an aversion to war stories. but I stuck with it on the second attempt and as usual with this author the last twist made it worth while.

Fabulous book set in the mountains of Bavaria in WW1. Couldn't put it down, great author & narrated well. Sad when it finished.

This is everything a folks horror story should be. Great characters with back stories that hook you in, make you care...then look out! Loved the ending. Best horror story I've listened to in a long time.

The story took a while to really get going, and as we truddged through the first few chapters I almost gave up, but I'm really glad I persevered as this turned into a very different book to what I thought it was at the start. Another Douglas Hoover book that I highly recommend.
