I'd have to admit to being a bit dubious at first. How could a man who had written a book at the start of the last century possibly have a message for me, a 21st century woman? It was a different planet back then, entirely. But my sister was in the middle of reading it and reckoned it was great so I decided what the heck. 3 weeks later and I'm listening to it every day. Where other books failed to keep me reading/listening again and again, this one does. 'There is a thinking stuff....'. You'll get the hang of it!

It really gets into your bones

Whether his ideas are relevant to getting rich or not, some things, that he claimed, can be now seen as foolish and downright dangerous. For instance, at one point he says, quite cheerily, if soil became depleted (or words to that effect) then science would invent a substitute. Would he be so cavalier, today, about the honey bee, or indeed the planet? Individual wealth creation is fine as long as it doesn't cost the earth. The book needs to be read with discretion. His avocation of reading it everyday and avoiding other books of the same ilk, is a recipe for brain washing, especially with statements, like the above, in the book. 2 stars is generous!
