'The deviousness of this immensely rich family plus a terrific plot make for an excellent thriller!' Reader review,⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dripping with scandal, secrets, grandeur and greed, THE SECOND WIFE is an unputdownable thriller, perfect for fans of Liane Moriarty and Sally Hepworth.

The Fairchild family have it all. At least that's what anyone watching the family of billionaires board the opulent Titan Pacifica would think.

But as Sydney Harbour Bridge starts to disappear in the rear-view window of the luxury liner, so too does any pretence that this is a happy family.

Unbeknownst to his children, CEO and patriarch Irving had planned to use the cruise to reveal his long-awaited succession plans. As glasses clink and elaborate dinners are served to the most notorious of Sydney's elite, it will soon become all too clear that family loyalty can only take you so far.

And although six embark on the journey of a lifetime, not all of the group will make it back to dry land again . . .

PRAISE FOR ALI LOWE
An exotic thriller with more twists than a dry martini. Ali Lowe masterfully skewers her characters and their flaws, ensuring a deeply satisfying ending to this twisty murder mystery!
Paradise with a side of poison . . . Ali Lowe is hitting her stride with this expertly woven murder mystery set on a stunning tropical island
A sharp, clever and compelling read . . . I couldn't stop turning the pages and read it in just two days! Ali's characterisation is always pitch-perfect leaving me both surprised and horrified by the dark side lurking beneath the glamourous and wealthy facades of her protagonists . . .
Ali Lowe is moving swiftly in the footsteps of Liane Moriarty, with her twisty family dramas . . . She is one to watch

I suspect this book was edited by AI - there are some "twists" which I'm certain were disproven earlier in the text, but I couldn't be bothered to re-listen. There were a couple of grammatical errors too.

I loved the author's first two books, but this one doesn't quite hit the mark.

I didn't see the final twist coming (good), but due to the poor editing, it was highly unconvincing (bad).

The ending didn't work for me either - two of the main characters were hardly referenced, and I would prefer a definitive finish. I won't spoil it for others, but not for me.

Not her best, I'm afraid
