📚 The author’s Nothing Special Series was not to my taste: I found it preposterous viz. violent, macho types who were badass because they had big dicks and wielded guns, rushed resolutions, plot holes, OTT action and porn. TSIMS is a complete contrast in content and writing style and charmed me!! Ms. Via took time to show Wylde and Jacob's chemistry and what they yearn so much from the other so that their HEA felt earned. I adored the spice (slow, sensual and just the right amount); the plot (tightly focused on Jacob’s redemption) and the execution of the hurt | comfort trope!

🎧 Thor Tom was perfectly fine. Despite the fairly large cast of characters having similar accents, cadences and audible breathwork, the narrator clearly differentiated them in conversations. The narrator had an appealing bass (yay) but it was a tad tiresome that most male characters tended to the growly, gravelly, butch, deep register. Gripes aside, Mr. Thom’s performance held my attention and that is what matters most to me.
