I approached this book with mild suspicion as, to be honest, I didn't really like The Beer Bible. Quite a title to live up to and not really achieved it seemed to me... I think there must have been some catharsis after completing that enormous tomb and here the writer is thoroughly relaxed and comfortable indulging himself, in a good way, talking about his most favourite beers that make his heart sing and for which he has travelled and researched to the impressive extent of the diligent researcher, which he undoubtedly is. I was almost rebelling against finding this book just SO wonderful. It may be 'secrets' but to me it's admirable care to report every detail of practice of the foremost brewers without overlooking anything or omitting any tiny detail by dismissing something as most likely unimportant to the aspiring homebrewer. Essentially, he shares his findings liberally and offers concise and insightful commentary on what he thinks next steps may be for those absorbing the information.  There are moments in the book that seem like passing remarks that illuminate things I have been wondering for a while. There is a sense that hitherto some of the information that can be gleaned from this book would otherwise have taken brewers years to work out on their own through much trial and error. The subject is nerdy but he warns the readers of this at the start. Yet the book is never boring! It is well written and presented. The reader is marvellous and particularly admirable for the quality of his pronunciation of the brewing terms. Some of the accents he used did raise a smile to be honest but I'm glad he included them as it brought yet more colour to his good job on this narration. The book is meant for USA readers but he also helpfully includes the conversion to degrees centigrade.

Very well researched , covers all possible beer styles, with loads of recipes. The narrators foreign accent s were a good laugh.

really enjoyed the narration, right up to the point the narrator started doing his exceptionally bad British accent. it's a book about brewing beer. literally no one in Britain, England in particular, talks like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Popins.

The facts and content is very good and I have learnt, in between laughing at the accent.

A reference work for my library

There is a load of good stuff in this book and I would have never got round to it if it was not on audible.
The issue is this is at its heart a reference book and I think it would be best consumed physically where I could flick through and read the section I was interested in at the time.
The narration is fine. I think other people have mentioned it but the accents are pure comedy.
