Summary

The Shadows of Memory plunges listeners back into Marc Alan Edelheit's sweeping fantasy saga—where love, sacrifice, and the weight of destiny collide in a world on the brink of ruin.

Gravely wounded after his duel with the deadly ranger Kyber, Eli awakens in a hidden refuge deep within the winter-bound forest. He has survived—but survival has come at a terrible price. Shadows haunt his every waking moment, and in his dreams, ancient eyes watch and wait. The bond with his cursed sword, Memory, grows stronger, hungrier… and Eli fears the weapon may demand more than he can give.

As he struggles to heal, Eli finds solace in the unwavering devotion of his wife, Mae. Yet even their stolen moments of peace cannot last. The war against Castol rages on, the Atreena remains lost, and the dread god Nyx has not forgotten the bargain struck in blood. Enemies gather, allies are stretched thin, and Eli must confront not only the threats beyond the forest—but the darkness rising within himself.

Full of heart-pounding action, unforgettable characters, and richly woven lore, The Shadows of Memory is a tale of resilience, love tested by fire, and a hero forced to walk the razor's edge between hope and despair. Fans of Bernard Cornwell, Raymond E. Feist, and Brandon Sanderson will be swept away in this next epic chapter of The Eli Chronicles.

Nothing happens until about 80% of the book, but the last 20% was pretty good. :) I do love the narrator, who did a great job in stopping me from DNFing.

Not too bad
