About this listen

In the beautiful, peaceful Ozark Mountains, a simple village lives a seemingly idyllic life, but it is far from perfect. In the midst of their struggles, an elderly shepherd arrives, leaving the distractions and stress of the city to find answers from his past. He befriends several of the kindhearted, yet proud villagers, who each carry wounds of their own. His wisdom and experience bring clarity and honesty to their secrets and hurt, while their forgiveness and love bring healing to his burdened heart.

This story set is in 1800s America about the lives of people that intersect in a small rural community. Well written and full of commendable characters, there is lots of food for thought and discussion. I found it a slow start as the setting and background of characters were laid out, but once I got into it I didn’t want to stop!

The narrator captures different voices for each character so well that it is easy to tell who is speaking at any time so it was easy to follow.

A wholesome and enjoyable story well narrated
