It's a good idea and performed very well but there's just a bit too much preaching for me. Feminist, vegan, animal loving wokeness that doesn't integrate well with the storyline. It just feels unnecessary and forced. On balance, it will stop me from listening to any more from this author.

I captured this for the length, to send me to sleep... it worked pleasantly but in waking I immediately went back to the beginning to listen properly. Great story and performance. Original, and immediate connection with characters. Will look to more from this writer.

An intriguing story that kept up my interest over the trilogy. This was my first time with this author and I shall be checking out more of her books.

I love these stories. They tick all the boxes for me. Sophie is a very down to earth young woman from the 21st century, who, with an unexpected companion, accidentally steps into a time machine. The story of her attempts to get back home from 1920’s Shorten Manor, plus the complicated relationship with Hugo and Freddy, is full of twists and turns.
It’s a great feel good story with an historical twist.
