About this listen

The broadcast isn’t over. It’s just beginning.Juno Voss has spent years chasing dead frequencies—cassette tapes filled with static, half-buried transmissions, and voices that don’t belong to her. But when one recording speaks in her own voice—words she has never said—she’s pulled back into a conspiracy that was never meant to resurface.

Her sister is alive. Or trapped. Or both.

The Vault is no longer a rumor—it’s bleeding into reality.

And the Signal isn’t content to be heard anymore.

It wants to be remembered.

As cities collapse under mysterious broadcasts and memories turn into weapons, Juno finds herself hunted by shadow networks, underground archivists, and the Cathedral. This cult-like empire turns belief itself into a transmitter. Everyone insists she’s not just listening to the Signal. She’s carrying it.

To survive, Juno must untangle what is a message and what is manipulation, who to trust, and who is already infected. Because the closer she gets to the truth, the more one fact becomes undeniable:

She’s no longer decoding the broadcast.

She is the broadcast.

I found this story compelling and intreguing, if a little confusing (that might just be my brain however). Certainly quite gripping and compelling though, largely due to the way the narrator emotionalises her voice and drew me in. A really great narration performance and, in my oppininion, worth listening for that in it'self.

This audiobook gripped me with its mix of static tapes, weird voices, and a conspiracy that blurs reality—perfect for my thriller audiobook binges during 10,000-step walks. Juno chases signals that turn into her own voice, hunted by cults and shadows as cities fall and memories weaponize; it's smart paranoia like Black Mirror, with a twist where she's the broadcast itself. Ciara Armstrong's narration builds eerie tension that stuck with me through evening reflections, blending suspense and mind-bends I love—no loose ends, just haunting vibes. Great for fans of psychological chills.

The Signal pulls you in fast and never lets go. The premise is eerie, smart, and deeply unsettling, especially the idea of memory and identity being weaponized through sound. Juno Voss is a compelling lead, and the conspiracy feels layered rather than gimmicky. Ciara Armstrong’s narration is excellent, adding tension and intimacy. Short, sharp, and disturbing in the best way, this sequel expands the world perfectly.
