About this listen

Contains books five and six of the Silent Champions series.

Ragged Heroes, book five

When death came calling, the outcasts became the champions. The Deadheads. A ragtag band of disgraced soldiers, killers saved from the gallows, and recruits too inept to hold the shield wall. They are the dregs of the Legion of Heroes.

Duvain and Endyn are no exception. A giant with a terrible secret and his weak, incapable brother, they are barely competent enough to march in a straight line and hold formation. But when a humdrum posting far from the battle line sets them directly in the path of an unstoppable barbarian horde, the Deadheads are all that stands between the enemy and total annihilation. Can the good-for-nothing soldiers prove themselves capable enough to turn the tide of battle and save innocent civilians?

The Last March, book six

Sergeant Koltun and his Screaming Howlers should never have been caught up in the desperate battle to defend Highcliff Motte from a horde of Eirdkilrs. But with so few Legionnaires against so many barbarians, they couldn’t simply ride away and leave their fellow soldiers to die.

Outnumbered, cut off from reinforcements, with no chance of victory, their only hope is to embark on one last march...every step a fight to survive.

I've loved ALL Of The Silent Champions!! I guessed from the very first who the traitor was before he ever put that there was a traitor. That's the only bad thing the fact I was able to work out whom and why. I also figured out about the main bad guy too while they were sat by one of their many fires!! other than that I love them all like you wouldn't believe. He's an excellent author with a wonderful imagination. I really thought I'd hate them. I cried so much in book 2 and 4!! Book 4 I had to actually put it down and take a walk outside with our dog before I went in and 5 minutes I was again absolutely sobbing my heart out!! You can't help falling in love with the characters they're so well written and so easy to get to know each individual and what drives them. Again a testament to the author and how he is able to bring you into his world and become invested with each person. I just wish there were more books with the riders but it wouldn't be the same after killing plenty of the more popular individual!! I'll now give some of his other novels a chance and hope that those books are half as good in which case I'd be very happy.
Also a shout out to the wonderful and fabulous narrator wow I could sit and listen to his voice all day long 😳😳 They way he brings the characters alive is amazing!! I could listen to him 24/ 7 woohoo 😉😉🤔🤔

Great read well worth the time and money.
