Summary

Nicola Highbridge travels to London to honor a childhood pledge and foil a plot that threatens both the British Museum and her sister who works there. But wherever she goes, she crosses paths with a disturbing workman who both distracts and attracts her.

I just love historical mysteries and romance and it can't get better than being set in the Regency period. This book was full of adventure and mystery. The romance was nice and not over the top. There was a lot of banter between Clay and Nicola and I enjoying going along with them on their investigations.
The narrator did a great job of performing all of the characters and I wouldn't hesitate at picking up more titles performed by her.
This was a delightfully entertaining book and I couldn't put it down. I listened to it all in one go. I will definitely be following the rest of the series.

I did not like it as much as I wanted to. I loved the description and I thought that it is up my street but there is something about it, which I can't put my finger on it, that I did not like. It was interesting and slow going at times.

That is not to say the book was bad but I just could not connect with the characters.

I would still recommend it, since others might like it more then I did.
