About this listen

Mysterious deaths in the family. A young woman left to inherit a fortune. Was it ghostly intervention... or murder? The Society of Free Spirits invites you to investigate, in this YA crime series with a supernatural twist.

After her father and older sister both die suddenly, Dolores is left with the family's inheritance, and a large house she's sure is haunted. Teaming up with her occult-obsessed neighbour, Ada, and the mysterious spiritual medium, Violet, the three girls plan to dispel the bad spirits from Dolores' home.

But when Dolores uncovers a clue that suggests her sister Edith's death wasn't due to natural causes, what starts as an investigation into ghostly apparitions develops into the unravelling of something far more sinister. . .

A Grave Inheritance truly has everything you're looking for in a cosy autumnal read - exquisite gothic vibes, mystery, seances and ghosts, with the perfect balance of humour that makes it the read for a blanket-fort escape (E. V. Woods)
Wonderfully fast paced... a perfectly balanced and enjoyable read
A fascinating, supernatural tale of friendship, love and death where betrayal can often be mistaken with admiration. A perfect spooky read for a cosy night in

I really like the writing but I found the narration too childlike and quite belittling of the characters especially Aida and Dolores

Loved the mystery, not the narrator sadly

I have really enjoyed this story. And it’s so funny, especially the relationship with Septimus and Delores, and Aida is just great. I’ve listened to Charlie Sanderson’s narration with other books and that is what drew me to this book. I hope Felicity Epps has written more Delores and Aida books. Just brilliant!

Love this!
