Is there anything you would change about this book?

I probably would have enjoyed this book if I had read it - the story was entertaining enough and I usually like Eli Easton's books. The narrator spoiled it for me though - he was acceptable with the ongoing narrative but his voices and accents were really awful.

Any additional comments?

If I hadn't just returned another book I would have returned this one after the first half hour. I certainly won't listen to it again, and it became more a task to finish it than something I looked forward to. As I said, the story was a good one, and I just wish I'd bought the kindle version instead of the audiobook.

The Stolen Suitor is the second book in the Clyde's Corner series, and one of my favorites in the series. The story, at first, seems pretty straightforward (if a bit Shakespearean): plotting mother sets her son up to marry the rich widow and uses younger son to be the distraction. However, the story becomes so much more than that simple setup, and Eli Easton creates an emotional complexity that I did not expect but really loved. Even secondary characters are well developed and we get to see situations through their eyes. There are some angsty and tense moments, but the romance and happy ending soothes away that pain. I adored this story and enjoyed it immensely.
