Summary

With millions of copies sold, The Stranger is one of the most widely read novels in the world. It stands as perhaps the greatest existentialist tale ever conceived.

When a young Algerian named Meursault kills a man, his subsequent imprisonment and trial are puzzling and absurd.

This remarkable translation by Matthew Ward has been considered the definitive English version since its original publication.

Excellent narration that just brought me back to to my youth. and I agree with the whole absurdity of evolutionary fate

Absurdity as it is

This book covers many themes in an interest easy to digest way and It conveys emotion In an alternative style. I would thoroughly recommend to people who like philosophy and symbolic books. Honestly there is no horrendous description of graphic violace but at points I still felt sick to my stomach. It is an alternative read but if you're looking for something a little bit different this book is great. Just be aware it is by no means jolly or uplifting but will make you think.

fantastic yet stark

This is my third listen to this recording. The story is something for itself, the protagonist is very well written, but also challenging because his way of thinking and living is detached from society.
But because of all the intentional gaps in the story, the book makes you think and wonder. Why is it so? Is the protagonist justified or not? How did he become like this? What does it tell of morality? Of justice.
The language and prose is sublime.

A classic - but not for everyone

I think I’m not clever enough to understand what’s so good about this book so I’ll just leave it as a three out of five

It’s ok
