About this listen

A witty and honest account about Lorraine Ansell’s journey with chronic pain due to Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. This genetic life long condition cannot be cured, only managed. Lorraine talks about her life in constant pain and how that has created her personality and even clothes choices. Lorraine’s life is a continual compromise of activities and choices. This book explores her journey as well as the issues with tissues which she now realises were actually a thing and how much pain she has been in. Listen to how she comes to face up to pain and learns to accept and work with pain.

Diagnosed in her early 40s, Lorraine has been learning about her pain from this and a few other conditions. In 2023 she had a detached retina and had x3 laser eye surgeries to save her sight in her right eye. Healing from this has given her time to rest and reflect on pain.

The Surrender Agenda is a book all about self discovery, self love and with some self help snack suggestions.

This book is heart warming to the core due to it's incredibly open and vulnerable story telling. everything the author talks about, feels ripped from my own life experiences. I felt understood and less alone listening to this audio book. I'd highly recommend to anyone who is currently processing the grief that comes with chronic illness

one of the most healing books for chronic illness grief
