About this listen

The Tao of Seneca (volumes 1-3) is an introduction to Stoic philosophy through the words of Seneca. If you study Seneca, you'll be in good company. He was popular with the educated elite of the Greco-Roman Empire, but Thomas Jefferson also had Seneca on his bedside table. Thought leaders in Silicon Valley tout the benefits of Stoicism, and NFL management, coaches, and players alike - from teams such as the Patriots and Seahawks - have embraced it because the principles make them better competitors. Stoicism is a no-nonsense philosophical system designed to produce dramatic real-world effects. Think of it as an ideal operating system for thriving in high-stress environments. This is your guide.

waffles a little at times and although I don't personally like a narator, I feel he needs more gravitas, it is still great advice to live to. I would personally suggest meditations by Marcus Aurelius as a better choice if you have not yet read it. Much more engaging and immersive with a great performance by the narator.

Solid advice and worth a listen but read better

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes I would recommend it. But I would recommend listening to the audiobook version first because the narrator's voice is quite difficult to listen to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Tao of Seneca?

Nothing stood out.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of John A. Robinson?

ME!

Was The Tao of Seneca worth the listening time?

If the narrator was easier to listen to.

Any additional comments?

Trial narrator's prior to going ahead. For me, John A. Robinson's voice really get's in the way.

I can only be honest...

Whilst the letter could be thought provoking. Just couldn't get to grips with it . I found myself easily distracted by surroundings rather than the book stracting me.

hard listening
