Gracie Burton is a grandmother living quietly in Devon. She has rarely left the village over the past 40 years. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with its gentle writing and insightful story. I felt the characters (certainly the main characters) were pretty well-drawn and mostly believable, while the evocative landscape was described beautifully. I listened to the audio book following surgery and found it quite lovely.

I am not the target audience for this book but I loved the summary and the idea of a story set in Tuscany. The story is predictable but the characters and the Italian countryside made it quite charming! Overall, I got what I signed up for.
