Summary
Kara is a brilliant physicist at Princeton. Colin is an English graduate student and then professor. Opposites attract. Eventually. But those differences become problems as their marriage progresses and they become parents.
Kara is distracted one day by a work phone call when she is supposed to be caring for their daughter. As a result, their daughter drowns. Colin blames her. She blames herself. She withdraws, focusing on the only solution she can think of: creating a time machine to go back and save her child.
It doesn't work the first time. Or the second. The third time, she has to make a choice. Keep losing parts of herself and her love for Colin, or accept what is.
