Reccomend reading in sequence. Exellent World building. Engaging Characters. Multiple side quests. Slow paced but well worth scrolling back when u fall asleep.
Mix of Murder mystery, Political intrigue Palace Coup.Love & Hate.

Only thing I found troubling was Naming of Characters. Multiple syllables somewhat difficult to keep track of.

I picked up this series after enjoying the Goblin Emporer and while it is in some ways quite different, there is still the undercurrent of political intrigue and machinations of the rich and powerful through out the series.

I found it very enjoyable and listened to the three books very quickly. It is quite a bit different than my usual fantasy which made for a nice change to the expected.

narrator is very good. recommend reading or listening to the series in order starting with the goblin emperor
