This audiobook had me gripped from the first chapter. i listened to it from start to finish over one day. It is a compelling account of real events centred in Berlin in WW2. It is not an easy listen in parts: there are characters who as part of the resistance, displayed immense courage as well as actors who had senior or key roles in the German army.
In short; this book is one of my all time favourites, and I would listen to it again.

I dislike and am disgusted by the way the way these people and all the other anonymous victims were treated.

The reader is excellent. The book well researched and fascinating insight into life and betrayal in WW2. There are quite a large number of names mentioned which need to be remembered so it’s a book that needs concentration from the listener but the author gives helpful reminders throughout that don’t jar.
Highly recommended.
