A lot of Monster Evolution Progression Fantasy has the issue that the MC is alone at the start, which leads to little social intricacy. The Trial of Vivex solves that issue with Instinct, a second character voice in the same body. The non-human MC has a distinct character voice that reminded me of that first section in Salvos. The narration is top tier. Survival, competition, and learning in an intense Battle Royale-like situation. Tense and thrilling.
