You ask me if I can forgive myself? I can forgive myself...

And so begins The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains, a haunting story of family, the otherworld, and a search for hidden treasure. This audiobook is brought to vivid life by the characters and landscape of Gaiman's award-winning story. In this volume, the talents and vision of two great creative geniuses come together in a glorious explosion of colour and shadow, memory and regret, vengeance and, ultimately, love.

...for many things. For where I left him. For what I did.

This is like a Scottish folktale and the story is completely compelling with many twists and turns. It evokes the wild landscape of the Highlands. Neil Gaiman’s narration is superb and there’s a fantastic score that makes this really special. Highly recommend.

A fabulous dark tale, brilliantly performed by Neil Gaiman.

I saw Neil Gaiman perform this live on stage in London with the Four Play String Quartet providing the music, and was thrilled to discover that this is the same version - just brilliant!

Superb

Brilliant as always. You cannot help but get carried away by the story. The music is also very fitting and it lifts the experience to a different level.

Classic Gaiman!

Neil Gaiman has set expectations very high for everything he writes, anything that falls short of brilliant will be a let down.
This book was not a let down, it had the interesting characters and storyline which keeps you wanting more. The length makes it more like a short story than something that you can lose yourself in, and I found myself aware that the story was drawing to a conclusion from very early into it.
This is a must for Gaiman fans and a good introduction for those seeing if they would enjoy his work.

SHORT BUT USUAL GAIMAN QUALITY

I love Neil Gaiman's stories and I love them even more when he narrates them but this one just didn't work for me the accompanying music was just a bit too loud sometimes jarred with Neil's voice. Sorry Neil... I did like the story though quite creepy.

Could of been perfect
