Summary

Jen Lyon, award-winning author of The Senator’s Wife, brings another intricately woven world of nuanced characters, solidifying herself as a skilled storyteller of women’s fiction.

When Kameryn Kingsbury lands one of the most coveted roles in cinema history, she’s certain it’s the most monumental thing that’s ever happened to her—until a twist of fate introduces her to Dillon Sinclair.

Dillon is unlike anyone Kam has ever met: bold, certain of herself, and fiercely driven by an ambition that has skyrocketed her to the top of her career. A famed British triathlete who remains on a quest to secure the one accolade she’s yet to achieve: an Olympic gold medal.

The connection between the two women is intense and unexpected, challenging Kam’s understanding of herself as she’s drawn into a relationship with Dillon. From the Hawaiian islands to the Santa Monica Pier, to the tropical paradise of the Keys, and the tranquil coast of Wales, a love story begins to unfold.

But when Dillon’s turbulent past collides with Kam’s overnight fame, the challenges escalate and the pressure of the relationship is heightened.

The Unfinished Line unravels a heartachingly beautiful story set amidst the arduous world of elite sports and the unrelenting limelight of Hollywood. Dillon and Kam’s journey explores the power of love, the sacrifices made to achieve success, and the dangers of reaching for perfection.

As a person who attempted suicide, I found this very difficult. Jen Lyon nails the emotions or lack of, and the other feelings associated. I am relieved yet still saddened she did the take two. But I cried. A lot. What a difficult story to write. Very unexpected and hard to move past. Im always sad to finish a book, but this one devastated me, part two eased the blow, but only slightly. I’m glad I listened to this story, but I couldn’t listen again, read again, knowing the truth of what will happen.
Abby craden is my favourite performer. Hands down. She is awesome. How she managed to get through this book, and cope with the plot and emotions, portraying one of the strongest performances I’ve heard her do. So animated and enveloping. The respect and awe i have for Abby Craden are as big as I can ever have.
However, her British accents are…. Awful. Very distracting. Would prefer her native accent than her trying to do any British. But then, I’m a Brit and know how the accents should sound. In fact, I am a south Walian and am very familiar with the Swansea accent….

Awesome story, but the accents……

What a brilliant read. The way it was written was captivating and right down to the last xoxo from the author a lump appeared in my throat. If only life was fair and take 2 was possible.

This story had me hooked from the beginning and it’s now 5 am and my nose is blocked due to the fact I’ve cried so much! I fell in love with the characters, fell in love with their stories and my heart broke for them. Such an oxymoron of emotions. I don’t know if I’m sad or I’m happy!… Well I’m tired I know that! :) x

Brilliant, brilliantly written, brilliantly narrated!
