About this listen

A knife-wielding criminal threatens a rural Scottish idyll in the latest mystery from a well-loved author....

Life is good for Jane Highsmith and Roland Fox - Jane is planning on taking over the local veterinary practice, Roland’s second novel has been accepted for publication, and they are soon to be married.

However, their wedding day is interrupted by a knife-wielding intruder. After confronting Jane in her surgery, she manages to inject the culprit with a microchip used for identifying pets. When a nearby petrol station is robbed by the same perpetrator, DI Fellowes and DS Bright hope that the microchip will lead them to the suspect....

Loved the story. Clever storyline humorous and kept me riveted to the end.
Look forward to listening more from this author

Great story

Scottish accents were good. Otherwise narrators voice was a bit flat. Story was ok but narrative was rather pedantic and uninteresting.

Ok but not the best.

Possibly the worst book that I have ever listened to. I do not know why I persevered. The accents outside the two main characters were pitiful, to the point of being unintelligible.

Pathetic

Where to start - a thriving one person vet practice without even an assistant? A vet who treats the animals but notionally hates dog fighting, just a shame that feeding them live cats as part of their training is dismissed as one of those things? A vet who is so stupid or badly trained that she is not aware of the fact that x-rays need to be treated with respect - especially when one is pregnant or doesn't understand how an animal ID chip is read or the difference between microwaves and x-rays (and still fails to get the point). Ok it is meant to be light hearted but the author's lack of understanding or research destroys even that.

Could have been fun but let down
