Summary

Grab your passport and let the Shergill sisters take you on a journey....

Meet the Shergill Sisters. The know-it-all, Rajni. The drama queen, Jezmeen. The golden child, Shirina.

They have never been close. But their mother’s dying wish was for them to take a pilgrimage across India together, to carry out her final rites. And so, the sisters are thrown together for one last (and very strange) family holiday.

The three women seem to have nothing in common, apart from the fact that each of them has a secret she would prefer to keep hidden. But as one unlikely adventure follows another, it’s not long before they start to realise that they might need each other now more than ever. After all, there are no secrets between sisters....

I really enjoyed listening to this book, and it was well read. Good nuances of sisters’ behaviours. It took a while to get to the point and then finished too quickly.

A great listen.

Great story telling. Narrator was excellent and really brought the story to life. Highly recommended book

A great read - melding British and Indian culture. Fascinating! 🤩

I hugely enjoyed this story. I felt drawn into the sisters stories even if I was regularly infuriated with them. The sisters each have secrets in the story, sometimes the way these secrets were hinted to the reader a little heavy handed. Overall the story evoked all the readers senses, India felt like another character and I was excited to be on this journey with them

Enjoyable and stayed with me,

Interesting story line but the slow drip of information made it kinda tedious. Felt the narrator sometimes left odd gaps in the middle of a sentence which didn't help.

Worth Persevering

Boring and dull. Persevered to chapter 5 and then had to abandon. Was a chore to continue

Poor and slow - don’t bother
