Summary

Discover the spellbinding mystery from the Richard & Judy best-selling author of The Glass House.

When four sisters arrive at Applecote Manor to spend the summer, all is clearly not well. They find their aunt and uncle still reeling from the disappearance of their only daughter, five years before. No one seems any closer to finding out the truth. Why did Audrey vanish? Who is keeping her fate secret?

As the sisters are lured into the mystery of their missing cousin, the stifling summer takes a shocking, deadly turn.

One which will leave blood on their hands, and put another girl in danger decades later....

I've had this on my TBR list for ages, always meaning to get round to reading/listening to it. So I've finally done it and though I didn't dislike the story, I was kind of bored with it midway, but made the effort to finish it. I don't like to do that to a book, get bored with it. It feels kinda disrespectful. I liked the Wilde Sisters, they were a close knit, loving quartet and the house in the countryside sounded idyllic. I don't quite know what distracted me from the story, I wish I could've enjoyed this book more.

A good story, I think.

This was my second Eve Chase and it didnt dissapoint. The narrator was ok but sometimes the childish accent grated a bit.
The story was fascinating but you have to concentrate to tie in the different timescales and I got lost a couple of times. However I thoroughly enjoyed the story, characters were both beleivable and well developed. The final chapter tied up all the lose ends and made a pleasant and engaging story. I will be back for more from this author after a diversion to my other love of historical fiction.

I really enjoyed this story. Wonderfully descriptive and nostalgic. Eve Chase is an engaging storyteller.

I really enjoyed the story but struggled to hear it a lot! There’s no point in listening to it in the car - unless through headphones turned all the way up - as it’s really quiet!

Quiet but good.
