Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself.

Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Though it was written for writers, it has been embraced by business entrepreneurs, actors, dancers, painters, photographers, filmmakers, military service members, and thousands of others around the world.

Starts off really entertaining and interesting but then quickly everything has some devine reference and Gods will this and holy purpose that, and other religious nonsense. First chapter or two well worth a listen but skip the rest.

Good start but too much God nonsense

Ok, a very good friend recommended this book to me to help me change my mindset. This is the first time I have ever had an audiobook sound like it was talking directly to me and that the narrator knew me. It has helped me think clearer and act accordingly. I will be listening to this at least once a week for the foreseeable future to listen between the lines. I know I haven’t heard everything so far and I need to dissect this fully. A great book and a great author. Thank you Mr Pressfield.

Absolutely excellent. Definitely I will come back to this book. Is to good for just one listening.

Read when I was demotivated to make art and enjoyed it but having already read Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic and the Artists Way by Julia Cameron, it touches on some of the same subjects, but in a quicker more condensed way.

Quick read to inspire and motivate

Love the fact that this book is narrated by the author itself. Although it can be a little repetitive in some ways, it sticks to the point and delivers some cold hard truths. I feel now that I'm much more aware of the challenges that we artists need to face everyday to get things done.

Captivating and inspiring
